- Comparison of Design Optimality Criteria of Reduced Models for Response Surface Designs in a Spherical Design Region
- Author: Chomtee, Boonorm
- Date: 2003-05-15
- Program: Statistics
- Abstract: In this dissertation, the major objective is to compare 3 and 4 factor response surface designs in a spherical design region by studying design optimality criteria (D, A, G, and IV-criteria) over sets of reduced models. Hence, theoretical and computational details of evaluating optimality criteria for reduced models for response surface designs in a spherical design region have been described. Specifically, robustness results of the spherical response surface designs and the comparison of design optimality criteria of the response surface designs across the full second-order model and sets of ...

- New Statistical Methods for Analyzing Proteomics Data from Affinity Isolation LC-MS/MS Experiments
- Author: Sharp, Julia Lynn
- Date: 2007-08-15
- Program: Statistics
- Abstract: The field of proteomics is exploding with statistical problems waiting to be explored. To obtain information on protein complexes, interactions between protein pairs is initially examined. This exploration is performed using `bait-prey' protein pull-down assays that use a protein affinity agent and an LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography-tandem mass-spectrometry)-based protein identifcation method. An experiment generates a protein association matrix wherein each column represents a sample from one bait protein, each row represents one prey protein and each cell contains a presence/absence associat...
